Gallons versus dimensions: check them yourself
A gallon figure sounds exact, but a deck box listing does not say how it was measured. You can compare the number to the stated interior size with one conversion: 1 US gallon is 231 cubic inches. This is our own arithmetic, not a figure from any listing. Worked example for the Keter Borneo: 45 x 23.4 x 21.3 in multiplies out to about 22,400 cubic inches, and 22,400 divided by 231 is about 97 gallons. The same check on the two other boxes with a clean interior size gives:
- Keter Borneo: about 97 gallons from the interior size. The listing says 110.
- Tangkula: 50 x 21.5 x 24 in is 25,800 cubic inches, about 112 gallons. The listing says 120.
- EAST OAK: 52.17 x 24.72 x 24.02 in is about 30,980 cubic inches, about 134 gallons. The listing says 120, and its inner width is in doubt (see below).
The three results go in different directions, so a bigger gallon number does not reliably mean more usable space. For cushions, the interior length and width matter more than the capacity label, because a cushion that does not fit flat has to be folded or stacked.
Will your cushions fit? A measuring rule
None of the five listings says how many seat cushions it holds, so measure your own before you order. As a rule of thumb (ours, not a listing figure):
- Measure the length and width of your largest seat cushion and your tallest back cushion.

The VEVOR box swaps the shell for a tarpaulin on a frame, which the listing credits for the low 14.3 lbs weight, and the TrailBlaze uses steel panels and adds wheels. The listings do not say how any of them performs after a season of sun and rain, so treat “waterproof” and “UV-resistant” as the seller’s description rather than a rating.
One practical point comes from the listings themselves. The Keter Borneo description says its wicker-style finish keeps stored items ventilated, and the VEVOR listing describes a mesh vent. As a general habit, dry cushions before you pack them away.
